TMJ stands for temporomandibular joint disorder. It is a disorder that refers to pain in your jawbone, which can be caused by the joint in your jawbone not functioning properly.

It can also be caused by trauma to the jaw area, wear and tear over time, as well as teeth grinding or clenching.
